Because of a sizeable increase in grant funding for its environmental chemistry/toxicology program, the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory required a new research facility with 28 distinct labs in six categories:

  • Trace Element Geochemistry
  • Environmental Chemistry
  • Marine Organic Chemistry
  • Nutrient Chemistry
  • Marine Biochemistry
  • Environmental Microbiology.

It also has offices, conference rooms, data processing, and common support areas.
