ASG was the architect of record with Perry Dean Rogers for renovation, restoration and reorganization of several floors in the 1933 Central Building of the downtown Pratt Library. After an analysis of existing and future space needs, a comprehensive program reorganized some of the space and created four mezzanines in the existing area.

The exterior display windows were restored, as were the grand hall and entrance. The library remained open during the 18 months of construction.

After completion of this phase, ASG was commissioned by the Pratt and the State of Maryland to develop an expansion master plan for two new facilities: the State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and the State Library Resource Center.

Completion: 1986
Size: 75,000 gsf renovations
         25,000 gsf additions
Cost: $3.2 million
