Landscape design for a roof garden in the heart of a busy urban neighborhood.
This new mixed-use complex is comprised of retail on the ground floor
and high-end condominiums that wrap an interior parking garage; the
roof garden sits atop the parking garage, providing a quiet gathering
space for residents on the eighth floor, as well as a beautiful view
from the windows of the floors above. The garden uses a mixture of
light-bearing plants, permeable surface materials (including metal
grate over sedum, and river stone), and teak decking to create a place
of calm and beauty in what would otherwise be a hard blank void.
