Chapel Hill, NC

Completion: 2005
Size: 27,800 gsf

To meet the University’s increasing utility needs, ASG is designing a three-story Co-Gen Steam Building with a 133-foot chimney stack and utility distribution tunnel to increase the capacity of the existing steam loop. The project creates an opportunity for landscape improvements as well as a building design that will fit into the tradition of UNC. The proposed landscape woodlands wraps around the building using native plant species, lights, and furnishings following guidelines specified in ASG’s master plan.

ASG is design architect in association with Carter & Burgess, Inc.
