University of Rochester
Rochester, N.Y.

Rochester's sports facility was modified over time to meet the campus's changing needs, but the resulting multi-building complex was outdated and extremely confusing to navigate. The complete renovation provides spaces for intercollegiate athletics, intramural sports, club sports, physical education, recreational opportunities, and public programs.

The new design created a strong circulation pattern to support existing and future programs. In addition, a "Hall of Fame" was created at the entry to celebrate the University's athletic accomplishments. Program areas include:

  • Track
  • Field house
  • Natatorium
  • Indoor tennis
  • Fitness/weights
  • Indoor field
  • Multi-purpose rooms
  • Squash/racquetball
  • Coaches' offices
  • Locker rooms
  • Training room
