To meet the University’s increasing utility needs, Ayers/Saint/Gross is designing a three-story Co-Gen Steam Building with a 133-foot chimney stack and utility distribution tunnel to increase the capacity of the existing steam loop. The project creates an opportunity for landscape improvements as well as a building design that will fit into the tradition of UNC. The proposed landscape woodlands wraps around the building using native plant species, lights, and furnishings following guidelines specified in Ayers/Saint/Gross’s master plan.

Ayers/Saint/Gross is design architect in association with Carter & Burgess, Inc.
