Case Western Reserve University
Cleveland, OH

In 2000, Case Western had the opportunity to purchase the 84-year-old Mt. Sinai Medical Center, a 14-acre complex adjacent to campus. The deal had to be completed within a short timeframe, so the University asked ASG to conduct a two-month feasibility study. The site never had a master plan and had grown from two original buildings to include 11 major additions of differing architectural styles and varying mass and scale.

ASG created a 25-year vision that shows how the property could be incrementally developed to house medical research and other facilities. Based upon the recommendations, CWRU purchased the site and is developing it as the West Quadrangle Campus.
