Following the complete build-out of a 1987 master plan, Ayers Saint Gross prepared a framework for continued growth at Carnegie Mellon by identifying physical improvements that enhance the character of the campus. This master plan is based on the university’s long-term goal of attracting and retaining students, faculty and staff by elevating the quality of its setting. Key components of the plan include clearly defined entrances to the campus, enhanced open spaces, improved parking and transportation systems, and well sited locations for new buildings – all in support of Carnegie Mellon’s mission over the next 20 years.
