Arcadia University
Kuch Center Expansion Feasibility Study Sustainable Project
Glenside, PA

Completion: TBD
Size: 36,000 GSF addition

Ayers/Saint/Gross has been commissioned to complete a feasibility study for the expansion of Arcadia University’s Kuch Center. In 2004 Ayers/Saint/Gross completed the Campus Master Plan which sited the need for a significant increase of student facilities. The university does not currently have a student union so the expansion will provide much needed student space on campus. The expansion will include:

  • Dining seating area
  • Flexible student meeting rooms
  • Student Lounges
  • Fitness and weight rooms
  • Multipurpose Space
  • Offices

The existing recreation and athletic facility will replace classrooms with a sub dividable large multi-purpose gathering space, relocate the dance studio, will replace the bookstore with a state of the art food service venue, insert a new 2 storey climbing wall, create new office space, and expand the current loading dock. The gymnasium will remain in its current configuration but will be enhanced with better acoustics, sound systems and lighting to support other uses such as concerts and large gatherings.

In an effort to create a more sustainable campus the Kuch Center will include numerous sustainable features, the most visible of all being new green roofs.
