PROJECT MANAGER FOR CAMPUS PLANNING STUDIO
Ayers/Saint/Gross Architects & Planners is a 140 person firm with experience designing environments that support the creation and dissemination of knowledge and culture for major higher education, civic and cultural institutions. With headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland and other sites in Washington, D.C and Arizona, our span is national with an increasing presence internationally.
As a result of continued growth in our campus planning studio, we are currently looking for an experienced project manager.
Responsibilities
- Guides and coordinates all disciplines of the project team with outside consultants, architects and the client team
- On some projects the PM may or may not be involved directly in the design.
- Coordinates schedules, meetings, deadlines, etc.
- Maintains the project administrative record (correspondence, contracts, etc.).
- Holds team meetings as required, coordinating projects, and ensuring everyone is on track. Coordinates quality assurance procedures.
- Day-to-day contact with most clients.
- Reviews billing for projects, marks up, and gives to the business manager.
- Prepares project budgets.
- Responsible for monitoring fees and the profitability of a project.
- Prepares fees with input from the project team.
- Manages changes of scopes, identifies scope “creep”, and prepares requests for additional fees as necessary.
- Works with department head on personnel scheduling and long-range staffing.
- Appraises department heads and principals on employee performance on particular projects.
- Provides information to principal and department heads on future projects so they can manage staffing.
- Assists in preparation of coordination standards within the firm.
- Assists in mentoring and informal development of other employees.
- Assists principals and department heads in determining direction of firm.
- Participates in business development and nurturing of new and existing client relationships.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years in design and/or planning with expertise in project management
- Strong design sensibility
- Technical proficiency in the entire CAD, Photoshop and Microsoft Suite including Excel, Powerpoint and Word. Knowledge of Deltek or other CRM/Project Management tools preferred
- Exemplary communications skills, both verbal and written.
