Ayers/Saint/Gross’s Arizona office was in need of a larger facility to house its burgeoning operation. 2008 will mark 93 years of continuous practice for Ayers/Saint/Gross and the third anniversary of the firm’s presence in Arizona. To accommodate the growth and in recognition of tremendous accomplishments, Ayers/Saint/Gross opened a third national studio location at Hayden Ferry Lakeside in Tempe, AZ. With several years of ongoing master planning and architectural commissions to Universities and Colleges throughout the West, this new studio, with expanded services and professional resources, will better serve existing clients and provide a base for regional commissions.

The firm’s long tradition of commitments to creative redevelopment and urban transformation is signaled by this move to Tempe. In addition to being part of the rebirth of downtown Tempe, this location allows Ayers/Saint/Gross to effectively serve the three major universities and community colleges in Arizona from a central location. The close proximity to the airport facilitates travel to projects throughout the Southwest.

The loft-style studio provides an open and flexible work environment that supports up to 30 architects and planners. The nautical imagery and the curving design of the Hayden Ferry building serves as inspiration for the design character. The curving western glass wall provides an unlimited source of natural lighting for the studio the studio and maximizes the views of Mill Avenue, downtown Phoenix and the entire valley

The state-of-the art office is equipped with travel-saving teleconferencing and videoconferencing capabilities and shared network systems to facilitate local, national and international design efforts. All design and construction administration were performed by local Ayers/Saint/Gross staff. The Ayers/Saint/Gross Tempe studio is pending LEED certification.
